Mr. Carter is one of the principal members of Insyght Legal, PLC. Insyght is a “boutique” business law firm which helps small to lower middle market companies increase their operating capacity and market share, and assists entrepreneurs with the sale or transition of their business. Mr. Carter’s practice focuses on business formation strategies, establishing joint ventures and strategic alliances, implementing mergers and acquisitions and creating personalized succession and exit plans.
Primary Area of Consulting
His passion is helping growing companies become leaders in their industry and enabling business owners to maximize the value of their business while achieving their personal retirement goals. As a result, his primary focus is helping entrepreneurs prepare their business for transition by implementing “exit strategies” for their family members, employees and co-owners, or facilitating strategic sales to outside third party buyers.
Mr. Carter is an active member of the Michigan Bar Association, the Detroit chapter of Association for Corporate Growth, the National Alliance of Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Enterprise Institute. He is a speaker and guest lecturer at various business and entrepreneur organizations including the Oakland County Economic Development Center, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and other industry action groups. He also works with and provides counsel to various Michigan-based organizations which serve Michigan’s advanced technology, human and health services and professional services sectors.
Mr. Carter obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, FL. He also holds the professional designation of “CM&AA”, or Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor and is currently working on a “CExP” designation.
